Inspiration
Lately I have found myself inspired by both modern touches and rustic finishes. Here are a few images that have inspired me to recreate the environment I live in.
Inviting Entry Ways
Grey and EarthyI think this is a little bit more of a modern entry way that still feels cool and inviting. It is simple but practical with the baskets that can be used as storage. Also, the hurricanes and candles give the entry a romantic feeling while the flowers give the entry a pop of color. This look is clean and looks pretty easy to recreate. The entry was created by Amanda Carol Interiors, who has some very pretty designs.

Cream and BeigeI love the simplicity of this entry way that welcomes guests into a comforting a serene environment. I like the cream and beige colors that look clean and timeless. I am not sure where these pieces came from, but this picture inspires me to attempt a DIY table similar to the one in the picture and recreate the mirror above the console. I found the image from the Hause Design blog.

Comfortable Living Spaces
A living room is a place that should be comfortable for lounging and practical enough for entertaining and hanging out with friends and family. The above rooms are different, but to me still obtain that comfy and welcoming feel while still being elegant and stylish.
- I love all the different textures throughout the room. Also, the built-ins look great and the glass doors make it feel very expensive. I saw this living room on Sabrina Sotos High Low Project tv show. She recreates very expensive rooms with a much lower budget. Love this show on HGTV. You can look at the HGTV website for more before and after photos from her shows.
- This living room is from the lovely Ballard Designs studio. I love the grey-blue accents throughout the room. All the blankets and plush couches make the room look very comfortable. I love the 4 mirrors in the back wall too.
- This room is much more colorful, which I am beginning to become more fond of. The room is great for entertaining as it has lots of seating and space for family and friends. I love the mix of colors used in the pillows and love the hanging lanterns for a rustic touch. This design is from the House of Turquoise.
Beautiful Bedrooms
RomanticThis bedroom has a romantic feel and also looks cozy and comfy. I love the contrast of the white and creams against the dark wall. The mirrored nightstands add some glam to the room while still maintaining a not too girly look. This image was found on homethangs.com.

UniqueThis headboard is unique and interesting and the chevron pillows in the gold color are a great use of pattern and add a modern flare to the bed linens. The open bedside table makes the room feel light and simple. The window treatments are simple and allow lots of light into the space. This image is from the LCDF blog.

PeacefulThe symmetry and colors in this room invite you to relax in a calm and cool environment. The room is appropriate for both a male and female. I also love the blue headboard and fur blanket. There is a sense of peace in this room. I found this image from the decorologist.

ModernDoes this chandelier make a statement or what? This bedroom has a more modern feel but still is inviting and warm. I love the patterned rug and the use of the couch at the end of the bed. I think I could hang out in this room all day long. This image is from the homethangs website.

The above kitchen features beautiful hanging lanterns, simple and sophisticated draperies and a range hood that I really like. This is one of those kitchens that is not huge, but looks very functional. I am hoping that I can create something like this in my first home. This kitchen design is from James D LaRue Architects in Austin TX.
The kitchen to the left from the Maddie's Nest Blog incorporates rustic wood beam ceilings, white countertops and cabinets and some high-tech appliances that are sure to make any aspiring cook like me happy. This is a dreamy kitchen that definitely fits my style. |
